Today's Brittany, Since 1903

Quite the news today. Woke up late as usual to find a very interesting package in my mail. After 3months since I sent in an eleven page essay to a Korean Culture contest, I FINALLY got a reply. Came in second place and won a samsung MP3 player.

Not bad, not bad at all. Holds a hell of alot more than my other one lol. I'm proud though, that my essay even got noticed. First place was a trip to KOREA!

I should definately send a shoutout to my awesome friend Monica, who acknowledged this contest and told me about it, cheering me on to join lol. THANKS MONNY!! LOTS OF LOVE TO MY WICKED KOREAN SISTER LOL!

Well, that was certainly the highlight of my day.

Sunshine

A dash of sunshine in her smile
Wild flowers in her hair
a little twinkle in her laugh
in this world, here and now, there isn't a care
her eyes are on you
but she doesn't feel quite as special as you make her to be
the only reason she smiles so much
is because you're the sunshine she sees.

Painting my wings

I need my wings to fly
I think
as I pick up the needle
and see your face
I'm a dreamer with the worst intentions
As nature
I will defy
I'm an artist
with my flesh shall be my canvas
and break the flesh of my blades
paint will clote these embedded lines
and replace them
with shades
I will carve my wings
my angel wings
down the long contour of my back
to follow the beating of unseen wings
to defy the freedom that I lack.
